Missouri Standard Residential Lease Agreement Template
The Missouri standard residential lease agreement permits a landlord to sign a tenant to a fixed contract that binds both parties and allows the lessee to occupy a living space in exchange for monthly rent. It is recommended that the tenant be screened through a rental application by the landlord/property manager in order to protect the lessor from a potential eviction or missing rent payments. Both the landlord and tenant are encouraged to review the Attorney General’s Landlord-Tenant Guide to better understand their rights before making an official agreement.
Laws – Chapter 441 (Landlord and Tenant) and Chapter 535 (Landlord-Tenant Actions)
- Lead-Paint Disclosure – Used to notify tenants of whether hazardous paint is contained in the dwelling (only for housing units built before 1978).
