As with other rental agreements in the State, the landlord must follow the residential landlord and tenant laws and is advised to take all necessary precautions before selecting an applicant and signing a month-to-month agreement (see the Landlord-Tenant Laws handbook provided by the Attorney General). To verify the applicant’s credentials, the rental application should be issued to the individual and completed before the contract is officially executed by the landlord.
