Before the landlord presents this contract to a potential tenant, they will often use a rental application form to check the individual’s credit history, employment and income information, rental history, and other pertinent background information. Once an applicant is approved, the agreement is negotiated and signed by all involved parties. A security deposit may be required to ensure the tenant will maintain the property’s good condition and continue to pay rent on time.
