The Virginia commercial lease is a document written and filled-in with a property owner and business tenant’s details in order to come to a mutual agreement over the use of primarily retail, office, or industrial space.

How to Calculate Rent

The rent is usually calculated on a “price per square foot” ($/SF) bases which is calculated as an annual amount.

For Example, if a property was for lease at a price of $12/SF and the total amount of space was 1,500 square feet (SF) the calculation would be as follows;

$12 X 1,500 SF = $18,000 in annual rent. To get the monthly amount simply divide by twelve (12) and you get the rental figure of $1,500 to be paid monthly to the landlord.
